Join a church for Ash Wednesday service. St Mark’s has services at 12:10, and 7:30pm. All Soul’s has services at noon, and 7:30 PM. St Clement’s has services at 11:30am and 6:30pm. This is a beautiful and solemn way to begin the season of preparation for Easter. Lent derived from the word for Spring (it is the word for spring in Dutch) and is connected to the word lengthen as the days get longer. As the winter stores ran out and the spring crops have not arrived the earth calls us to pay attention and tread lightly. This is also the time that Jesus “sets his face for Jerusalem” and the Passion. We are called to walk with him.
The last services at all churches will have music.
