In the UK following the Brexit Vote this summer there was an immediate wave of anger and prejudice directed at immigrants and others who were considered ‘outsiders.’ A simple twitter suggestion became adopted by many people regardless of faith or background. A safety pin worn on your clothing becomes a simple invitation of trust. Right now, when so many feel worried that their personhood might be robbed from them, their home is uncertain, and their safety to be is threatened, it is time to let people know that you are safe. The future is not built on prejudice or fear. It is built on hope and love. Today, let us love one another. Then let us enact the beautiful vision of God.
